Jonny Steinberg has written another masterpiece of reportage/biography, this time of Fusi Mofokeng, a man wrongly convicted of murder in 1992 in a crime linked to the SDU/IFP war in the Vaal. This is a heartbreaking work about our recent history and how it destroyed a man’s life. But it is more than that, too, because Fusi, released from prison 20 years after democracy, has much to tell us about the shape of our post-apartheid realities.
Jonny and Fusi will be in conversation with Michelle Le Roux at the Troyeville Hotel on Tuesday, 10th of September, at 19:00.
Dinner will set you back R259pp excluding drinks.
Bookings (firstname.lastname@example.org) are essential.
